2013 - What Will it Bring?

Are you serious? Are we back at January and it's now 2013.  Where did 2012 go? For me 2012 was a big year. The second part of the year anyway.

I started the year out waiting to hear about a partial I'd submitted. I was hopeful that it was going to lead to big things for me. Unfortunately by the end of March, that dream was pretty much gone and I was feeling very low indeed. I almost felt like giving up. I realised that the reason I got rejected was because I'd lost my way. I tried to conform to what I thought was wanted that I wrote myself out of the story. Anyway I will go back to it and edit it - inject my voice back into it.

Another three months went by and by the end of the 1st half of the year, I was a contracted author with Crimson Romance. A dream that I had hopes for achieving at the beginning of the year had come true. I was going to be published.

By the end of 2012 my first book Masquerade was published and I had signed two other contracts. Another one with Crimson which is Dawn from Masquerade's story - which has a tentative release month of June 2013. The other contract was for Escape Publishing, the new digital arm of Harlequin Australia. That story "Bound by Her Ring" will be released 1st February 2013.

So what do I have planned for 2013?  Well let me put it this way - I'm not Shona ;-). Her goals make me tired just reading them!  But I want to try and get another book slated for release in the latter half of the year. If I could get two well that would be great but I'm not going to be disappointed if it's only one.

In the end I want to be able to grow as a writer and increase my readership. I want to bring a sense of joy and happiness to readers as they read my book. I want them to escape with my characters on their journey to a happy ever after.

Whatever happens I know that I'm achieving my dream and it can only get better.
