Writing and the environment

How did I miss bog action day?

Glitchy computer actually.

That charity event which Christine Wells and Anna Campbell donated books to happens today. I passed the books on to the person doing the display last night.

I also gave her a card that Christine had sent to me. (She said I was doing a great job, or something to that effect and it's sooo not me doing anything much.) It's a gorgeous card with a lovely historical looking C on the front. It reminded me that everything you send out as a published author makes some comment about you. Not just your published writing.

Then I was in the supermarket looking at some cards that caught my eye. They were quite beautiful, vaguely fantasy or paranormal in their images and they were made from some fast growing plant that makes high quality paper. I don't recall which plant but there are several that can be used instead of wood chipping large trees into pulp.

I guess the sequence of events left me thinking about the small ways we can influence the world. I'd like to think that should I ever get published I will remember all the little things that can make a difference.

Of course I'd have to actually enter a competition or send out a query letter or something for that to happen. Finishing the manuscript might be a good idea too.

What's your thang? How do you try to change the world in small ways?

H! :)
